Program Summer Intern
The Social Innovation Forum is seeking two full-time Program Interns to join its team. The Program Intern will have the unique opportunity to interact with nonprofit Innovators, business leaders, philanthropists, and a range of other partners in the social innovation field. This position offers the chance to take on meaningful, varied projects and to further one’s professional development through organized skills training sessions and the work itself. The Program Intern will be one of a team of two such interns working together conducting research on social impact organizations in Greater Boston, doing outreach to nonprofit leaders and potential applicants to the Social Innovation Forum’s flagship Social Innovator Accelerator, managing and evaluating applications, and planning and handling logistics for meetings and events. There may also be opportunities to create email-marketing materials, design and update web and social media content, or craft another special project with SIF staff members, depending on interest, need, and ability.
For this role, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented team member who is eager to work and to learn in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines, and they will have the maturity and flexibility to work successfully with a variety of colleagues and constituents. Strong communication and organizational skills are also critical to this role.
As our summer interns recruit a diverse array of nonprofit organizations for our Accelerator program and support them through the application process, candidates who have knowledge of and connections to various communities/neighborhoods/networks within Boston and Greater Boston are especially encouraged to apply.
As Program Coordinator, you’ll share our belief that we can meaningfully drive social change by providing a range of supports to local grassroots nonprofit organizations, while leveraging the resources that already exist within Greater Boston. You will play a critical role as the primary point of contact for our vibrant and diverse programmatic community, including prospective and current program participants, volunteers, and in-kind partners.
You will focus your time and talent on supporting SIF’s flagship program, the Social Innovator Accelerator. Each year, SIF selects a cohort of high-performing nonprofit organizations (Social Innovators) and helps them build capacity, gain visibility, expand their networks, and connect with philanthropic and in-kind resources. The Accelerator engages over 100 volunteers, coaches, and in-kind service providers and hosts more than 30 events annually, from small-group meetings to more formal events with 300-400 attendees. You will also have the opportunity to support additional programmatic initiatives.
You’ll be a wonderful addition to our team if you are an organized, results-oriented individual who is eager to support efforts to build and execute effective programs. It’s your ambition to be a creative, strategic and driven champion for SIF that will help you excel in the role. This role reports to the Program Manager and works closely with SIF’s program team and the Communications team.

You’ll be a wonderful addition to our team if you have exceptional organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail, and the ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects simultaneously. We seek candidates who gain purpose in their work through roles that encourage flexibility and teamwork.
