Candidate‌ ‌for‌ ‌BA‌ ‌in‌ ‌Political‌ ‌Science‌ ‌(expected‌ ‌graduation‌ ‌2022)‌ ‌

Nneka‌ ‌(she/her/hers)‌ joined the Social Innovation Forum (SIF) in June 2021 as a Summer Program Intern. In this role, Nnkea works closely with the Program Team to support the recruitment of 150+ nonprofit organizations that apply for the Social Innovation Accelerator program. Many of her responsibilities include market scanning for local non-profit organizations, conducting outreach to non-profit leaders, and evaluating applications for the Accelerator program. 

Nneka‌ ‌is‌ ‌a‌ ‌rising‌ ‌senior‌ ‌at‌ ‌Yale‌ ‌University‌ ‌pursuing‌ ‌a‌ ‌degree‌ ‌in‌ ‌Political‌ ‌Science.‌ ‌She‌ ‌wants‌ ‌to‌ ‌work‌ ‌to‌ ‌promote‌ ‌economic‌ ‌equality‌ ‌and‌ ‌social‌ ‌mobility.‌ ‌She‌ ‌is‌ ‌interested‌ ‌in‌ ‌working‌ ‌on‌ ‌issues‌ ‌surrounding‌ ‌housing‌ ‌insecurity,‌ ‌public‌ ‌health,‌ ‌and‌ ‌self-determination‌ ‌within‌ ‌marginalized‌ ‌communities.‌ ‌This‌ ‌passion‌ ‌has‌ ‌led‌ ‌to‌ ‌work‌ ‌at‌ ‌a‌ ‌volunteer‌ ‌education‌ ‌initiative‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌Fair‌ ‌Haven‌ ‌Public‌ ‌School‌ ‌system‌ ‌where‌ ‌she‌ ‌developed‌ ‌supplementary‌ ‌curriculum‌ ‌for‌ ‌ESL‌ ‌students.‌ ‌She‌ ‌also‌ ‌has‌  ‌served‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌Public‌ ‌Health‌ ‌Educator‌ ‌at‌ ‌Yale‌ ‌and‌ ‌created‌ ‌programming‌ ‌addressing‌ ‌health‌ ‌disparities‌ ‌on‌ ‌campus‌ ‌and‌ ‌in‌ ‌New‌ ‌Haven.‌ ‌She‌ ‌is‌ ‌very‌ ‌excited‌ ‌to‌ ‌turn‌ ‌her‌ ‌efforts‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌nonprofit‌ ‌sector‌ ‌with‌ ‌SIF‌ ‌and‌ ‌seek‌ ‌out‌ ‌more‌ ‌connections‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌Greater‌ ‌Boston‌ ‌community.‌ ‌ ‌
