Dear Friends and Supporters of the SIF Community,
At this time of real challenge in the world and in Eastern Massachusetts, the health and well-being of our community members is our top concern. In order to help slow the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Social Innovation Forum (SIF) has stopped all convenings and programming through early April, and our staff team will be working remotely for the next two weeks. We will continue to evaluate our options for the Showcase, which is currently scheduled for Monday, May 18. We will keep you informed about any changes over the next few weeks.
We recognize that the impact of a public health crisis such as COVID-19 reflects the inequities in our society. Many of us will have our lives disrupted, but those who will bear the worst of this crisis include workers with no paid sick leave, individuals without access to health care, families facing food insecurity, and parents who will miss work (and a paycheck) when schools close, among others. Similarly, many nonprofit organizations whose work provides an important safety net for our community are facing their own challenges - trying to figure out how to continue critical programming in a time of uncertainty, how to keep their staff and stakeholders safe, and how to manage the financial implications of canceled events, which are often a significant source of operating funds - to name a few.
In these weeks ahead, SIF will be working to support the local, on-the-ground nonprofit organizations in our community by lifting up and sharing their important work and connecting them to funders who are looking for ways to help.
As this situation evolves, we will continue to update you with any changes to our programming. Thank you for your continued partnership, friendship, and ongoing support for both SIF and for the larger nonprofit community here in Eastern Massachusetts.
Warmly,
Susan Musinsky
Executive Director
