Dear Friends & Colleagues,
It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the Social Innovation Forum’s new website!
As many of you know, 2015 has been a pivotal year for the Social Innovation Forum (SIF). After 12 years as a program of Root Cause, we have spun off and incorporated as an independent nonprofit organization.
Since Root Cause CEO Andrew Wolk started SIF in 2003, the program has grown from a volunteer-led initiative with a budget of $20,000 to a well-recognized and respected program with eight dedicated staff and an annual budget of over $1 million. More importantly, we have built a portfolio of 85 high-performing nonprofit organizations and social impact businesses that are improving thousands of lives as a result of our work together.
Over our 12-year history, our Innovators’ revenue grew fourfold. Furthermore, we have built a community of more than 5,000 funders, volunteers, and social purpose organizations. With your support, this community is creating networks that will continue to drive positive social change throughout greater Boston.
Our website is the virtual home of this 5,000+ member network of individuals and organizations engaged in social change in our community. We hope you will take the time to explore its content and get to know SIF, including:
- Learning more about our work and our impact
- Discovering innovative nonprofits and social impact businesses, and
- Finding out how you can become involved in this unique community addressing greater Boston’s most challenging social issues.
Finally, we offer our sincere thanks to The Trustees’ Philanthropy Fund of Fidelity Charitable for their generous financial support of this project. And many thanks to the team at Echo&Co. for designing and developing this site and to our Program Manager Anna Trieschmann for her leadership and dedication to the SIF website and our broader work. We could not have done this without them!
Warmly,
Susan Musinsky
Executive Director
