In order to plan effectively, nonprofit leaders must understand how their organization’s past income and expense dynamics influence its present and future finance picture. During this 90-minute virtual workshop, Nonprofit Finance Fund will cover its approach to interpreting nonprofit business models as seen through their financial statements. You will learn key strategies for forecasting revenue and expenses, best practices for budgeting for restricted revenue and one-time or episodic revenue and expenses, and insights into different sources of revenue and types of expenses. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with other nonprofit leaders to discuss their challenges and opportunities as they explore ways to adapt their business models to the current moment.

This workshop is open to staff whose roles do not relate to financial decision making but are interested in learning, those who contribute to or make financial decisions within their program, and those who contribute to or make financial decisions at the organizational level.
