Join the Social Innovation Forum and the Nonprofit Finance Fund for an in-person event, Funding for Equity: Bridging the Gap between Nonprofit and Funder Understanding of Full Cost, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 9:00am-1:00pm. Breakfast and lunch will be served.
About the Session
This 4-hour session will harness the community experience of participants to open a dialogue on the critical role of full cost in advancing equity. The Full Cost Framework names and claims all the financial resources it takes to run an effective organization for the long haul.
It's not only who we fund, but how we fund that matters. This workshop creates a unique space for nonprofit and funder leaders to learn as peers, set a shared understanding of the full cost of running an effective organization, and identify ways to improve funding dynamics in nonprofit organizations and for the broader field. This workshop will define components of full cost and work through how the framework can foster more open dialogue and transformative relationships.
Goals of the Session
- Gain insight into the full cost mindset and how it could impact your organization's equity journey and finances.
- Begin to break down barriers between funders and nonprofits and explore how to create funding agreements in partnership.
- Challenges assumptions about accountability, reasonable costs, power dynamics, and privilege to advance equity and results.
