Nonprofit Roundtable: Reimagining the Role of Nonprofits in Communities of Color

-

Via Zoom

In the context of the unequal impact of COVID on communities of color and the renewed attention to our country’s systemic violence against communities of color, we ask: how can nonprofits examine their own practices and narratives in order to deepen their commitment and contribution to sustainable change?

Join us for a virtual roundtable discussion.  We’ll hear from leaders in our communities and then spend time in smaller discussions to share resources and challenges and identify opportunities to collaborate.

Speakers:

Aziza Robinson-Goodnight, Executive Director of Transformative Culture Project

Patricia Spence, President/CEO of Urban Farming Institute

Segun Idowu, Executive Director of Black Economic Council of Massachusetts

Closing Practice: We invite you to join us for a guided meditation focused on self-care, self-compassion, and self-awareness, in an effort to cultivate deeper compassion and care for the communities/community members that we serve.  Led by Marlene Boyette, a certified / registered Trauma-Informed Yoga and Mindfulness Practitioner.

This event is open to staff at any alumni Innovator organization, as well as others in SIF’s nonprofit community. If you would like more information or to RSVP, please contact Jenna at jnackel@socialinnovationforum.org
