Social Innovator
RIA is a women-led not-for-profit organization of survivors and allies that provide trauma-informed case management, survivor professional mentorship, clinical therapy, accompaniment, and virtual support groups for women seeking to exit and recover from experiences in commercial sex and its associated exploitation, trafficking and prostitution. RIA has provided effective survivor services since 2015 and has become an integral service provider in Massachusetts.
Each year our team provides a range of trauma-informed behavioral health, recovery, and resiliency services to more than 100 survivors of commercial sex and human trafficking. Approximately 40% of individuals we serve are located in Middlesex, 35% in Suffolk, 20% in Worcester, and 15% in other counties.
We serve a broad footprint across the region because RIA’s team travels to where survivors are and where they are comfortable meeting, rather than requiring survivors to come to us and our spaces. This helps ensure our services are as low barrier as possible for survivors. All of our services are free and confidential - we do not accept insurance are funded through grants and other donations.
