1 | Unwrap your yoga mat with Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association, 2016 Innovator
Free Yoga in the Park!
Wednesday August 15, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm | Boarding House Park, Lowell MA
The Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association is teaming up with bjia yoga and the Lowell National Historical Park to host this OMazing evening. Stretch your body and mind in a free class lead by Barbara Dunsford with your community! The Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association is to improve the quality of life for Cambodian Americans and other minorities and economically disadvantaged persons in Lowell through educational, cultural, economic and social programs.
This event is free and open to the public. All yogis and abilities are welcome.
2 | Get active (again!) with InnerCity Weightlifting, 2012 Innovator
Moves on the Roof – Free Fitness Series
Tuesday August 14, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm | Kendall Center, 90 Broadway, Cambridge MA
InnerCity Weightlifting has teamed up with Health Yoga Life to hold fitness classes on the Kendall Square Roof Garden. Condition and strengthen your body along-side your community with a workout adjustable to your fitness ability. InnerCity Weightlifting is conquering violence on the Boston streets by giving troubled youth the opportunity to become personal trainers.
Registration is free and required here. The Free Fitness Series will continue every Tuesday through September 25.

Community Potluck Dinner
Thursday August 16, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Come out for the last ZUMIX summer potluck dinner: Pasta Party & Storytelling Open Mic! Bring a dish and join your community for celebration, great eats, and stories. There will be a featured showcase by Director’s Cut, Hello, It’s Me, Recording Lab. ZUMIX, Inc. is an East Boston-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building community through music and creative technology.
This event is open to the public.
4 | Hit the pavement with Groundwork Lawrence, 2013 Innovator
The Greenway 5k
Sunday August 12 9:00 am – 12:00 pm | 50 Island Street, Suite 101, Lawrence MA
On your mark… get set… go! Join Groundwork Lawrence for their annual 5k to support the community and city of Lawrence. Bring your family and friends to walk or run on a beautiful summer day. Groundwork Lawrence strives to bring about the sustained regeneration, improvement and management of the physical environment by developing community-based partnerships which empower people, businesses, and organizations to promote environmental, economic, and social well-being.
