1. Put Your Thinking Cap On with Mystic River Watershed Association, 2015 Innovator
Environmental Economics In The Mystic River Watershed

Are you curious about how ecosystem services analysis or other tools in environmental economics could be applied to the Mystic? Join the Mystic River Watershed Association and Nejem Raheem, Associate Professor in the Department Of Marketing Communication at Emerson College. Nejem Raheem has over 10 years of experience as an environmental economist. His expertise is in economic analysis of natural resource and environmental issues, focusing on ecosystem services and traditional or indigenous economies. This exciting presentation is part of the Mystic River Watershed Association’s monthly Committee Meeting.

2. Get Your Fresh Produce with Groundwork Lawrence, 2013 Innovator  
Groundwork Farmers Markets
July 6, 10 am - 3 pm | Campagnone North Common, 200 Common St., Lawrence, MA 01840

Beginning on July 6 and continuing every Wednesday through the rest of the summer, Groundwork Lawrence will host your local farmers at a weekly Farmers Market. Come out and support your local farmers, buy fresh and healthy products, and reconnect with your neighbors. Enjoy the views, flavors, and the smells of summer while making healthier food choices! All of the farmers accept SNAP/EBT/food stamps as well as debit, credit, and cash; coupon program for the farmers market from Hospital Holy Family, WIC coupons and coupons for the elderly are also welcome.

3. Dig Inn with Future Chefs, 2011 Innovator

Join Dig Inn for breakfast, lunch, or dinner (maybe all three?) by Copley Square. The kitchen will be in full swing from 7 am to 10 pm, with all profits dedicated to helping Future Chefs empower the next generation of culinary leaders. You’ll find an open kitchen to feature the action and communal nooks to work, read, and gather out in the sun!

4. Find your Inner Engineer with Artisan’s Asylum,  2014 Impact Entrepreneur
Hands On Basic Electronics
July 11, 7 pm - 9 pm  | Artisan's Asylum Inc, 10 Tyler St., Somerville, MA 02143

Have you been interested in learning to work with electronics, but haven’t known where to start? This class is for you! It will be a hands-on, practical, crash course that will provide you with the skills to do simple electronic projects. You will walk away knowing the basics of circuit theory, how to prototype circuits on a breadboard, how to troubleshoot them, and how to solder them together. The class consists of four two hour classes. In each class we will complete at least one project and you’ll go home with some fun things that you have created.

5. Enjoy Neighborhood Nights with Hale, 2016 Innovator

Grab your friends and family and head out to West on Centre for their new “Neighborhood Nights” event to benefit Hale. Hale is a private, non-profit educational organization that manages 1,137 acres of woodlands, including four ponds and over twenty miles of trails in Westwood and Dover, Massachusetts. Hale is most widely recognized for its summer day camp programs which annually serve over 4,400 children from 70 communities in the greater Boston area. Ten percent of the proceeds will go directly towards Hale as they continue on their mission to provide every child educational and recreational opportunities to develop self-confidence and an appreciation for the natural environment.
