With a portfolio of 99 organizations and social businesses, the Social Innovation Forum wants to help keep our community informed, active, and social through our Putting the "Social" in Social Innovation Summer Series. Each week we will share events being hosted by our past Innovators and Entrepreneurs. Be sure to get out there and support our inspiring Boston nonprofit community!

1. Celebrate Good Times with Madison Park Development Corporation/ACT Roxbury, 2003 Innovator 
Unity Day For Roxbury Residents

As part of NeighborsWeek Madison Park Development Corporation invites our residents out for a day of fun in celebration of Roxbury's resiliency. The event is free and open to all ages!
 
2. Get Jazzy with Zumix, 2006 Innovator
Jazz at the Firehouse - Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo
June 12, Doors open at 4:30 pm | 260 Sumner St., East Boston
 
Jazz at the firehouse is an annual jazz series at ZUMIX, which features Jazz artists from all over the world in an intimate setting. Each evening will open with emerging artists from ZUMIX's youth programs. Beer, wine, and light refreshments will be available for sale. Tickets are $15 and will support ZUMIX’s award-winning work using music as a tool to empower youth and build community in their 25th anniversary.
 
3. Eat, Drink, & Network with Massachusetts Coalition of Occupational Safety and Health (MassCOSH), 2016 Innovator

Join MassCOSH’s Health Tech network for food, drink, and a chance to hear about opportunities to get involved with health & safety campaigns and projects! We invite occupational health students and professionals of all stages to come together to share experiences and resources with each other. This is a great way for NEW and VETERAN Occupational Health Professionals to get involved in a dynamic network. Appetizers will be provided. Pay at the door: $5-10 for students, $15-20 for professionals.
 
 
4. It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere with Mill City Grows, 2014 Innovator
Farm to Cocktail Party
June 16, 5:30 pm - 8 pm | UTEC, 41 Warren St, Lowell, MA.
 
Join us for an evening of delicious foods fresh from the farm, tasty cocktail creations, musical entertainment, raffles, silent auction, and much more! All event proceeds support Mill City Grows’ Food Access and Education programs in Lowell. Tickets may be purchased through eventbrite for $75, which includes complimentary cocktail & fresh farm appetizers.
 
5. Be Bold with True Colors: Out Youth Theater, Program of The Theater Offensive, 2008 Innovator
Community Workshop with Ty Defoe
June 17, 6 pm - 9 pm | Black Indian Inn, 38 Bicknell St, Boston, MA 02121
 
Gather together with us in this intimate culmination of Ty Defoe’s and IBEX Puppetry’s artistic work focused on Black, Indigenous, Native, and First Nations people’s stories and traditions. We will place the finishing touches on the large community dreamcatcher puppet, share this artistic creation with our neighbors, break bread together, and celebrate our art. Bring stories, readings, poetry, and songs to share. The event is free and open to the public.

Alexandra Williams worked with SIF during the Summer of 2016 as a Social Innovator Accelerator Summer Program Intern through the Yale Alumni Community Service Fellowship. She is​ currently​ a senior at Yale University studying Political Science with a focus on urban development and public policy​.​
