1. Improve your Health with the Madison Park Development Corporation, 2003 Innovator
Unnatural Causes Film Series: Bad Sugar

Join Madison Park Development Corporation, in partnership with the Roxbury Innovation Center and the Whittier Street Health Center, in a monthly, 7-part film series focused on how inequality makes communities sick. Each film screening will be followed by a community discussion about how this relates to Roxbury. The topic for June is ‘Bad Sugar: Diabetes in two Native American communities.’ Spanish subtitles will be available and light refreshments will be served.
2. Mix and Mingle with Company One Theater, 2015 Innovator
Studio Sessions: The T Party

Have a cocktail and explore the nuances of theater production and rehearsal processes with the cast of Company One Theatre’s the “T Party.” The “T Party” is a unique show that uses real stories and fantastical satire to cast an exuberant and surprisingly tender look at gender expression and sexuality.
3. Shop for Your Summer Reads with More Than Words, 2009 Innovator

Stop by the More Than Words community pop up book store! Over 100 hardcover, softcover, and children’s books will be on sale for under three dollars. Proceeds will support More Than Words, an organization that aims to empower youth who are in foster care, court–involved, homeless or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business.
4. Reflect & Celebrate with Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, 2016 Innovator

Did you walk with Louis D. Brown Peace Institute in May? Share your experience from their Mother’s Day Walk and share your ideas with a supportive community over a provided dinner. The Louis D. Brown Peace Institute serves as a center of healing, teaching and learning for families and communities dealing with murder, trauma, grief and loss. Join Artisan's Asylum for this introduction to the world of modern commercial cryptography. Cryptography is one of the most important, controversial and misunderstood technologies of our age. During World War II, new cryptographic technologies enabled the Nazi invasion of France and new code breaking techniques in Britain and the US led to their ultimate defeat. Today cryptography is a core component of the Internet security infrastructure that enables billions of dollars in commerce every day. No prior knowledge required.
About the Author
Alexandra Williams worked with SIF during the Summer of 2016 as a Social Innovator Accelerator Summer Program Intern through the Yale Alumni Community Service Fellowship. She is currently a senior at Yale University studying Political Science with a focus on urban development and public policy.
