Join the Social Innovation Forum for a panel discussion featuring experts from philanthropy, nonprofit, and academia exploring the significance of funding “upstream.” We will be unpacking why funders should move resources to address root causes of systemic inequity in addition to funding the organizations that address the immediate symptoms. With so many societal issues impacted by intersecting systems, we cannot pull at a single thread and expect the systemic results we hope to see.
Through our interactive panel conversation, this event will offer funders the opportunity to learn from a variety of perspectives about upstream work and how to deepen their engagement with it. This event will include a facilitated panel, interactive table discussions, and time for networking.
Funders of all types and sizes are welcome to attend, including individual funders, family foundations, and corporate foundations. To create a space for learning and dialogue amongst funders, this session is open only to funders. Contact Carina Traub, Funder Learning Manager, at ctraub@socialinnovationforum.org with questions.
